VW07 Sells Out, Sets Fall Conference

Virtual Worlds 2007, the new conference that kicks off tomorrow here in New York, has sold out, according to its organizers. Way to go. They’ve also set October 10-11 as the dates for Virtual Worlds Fall (perhaps unfortunately named?), to take place at the San Jose Convention Center out in California. I’m on a panel on the future of virtual worlds on Thursday morning, and I’m looking forward to most of the panels, actually, as the conference seems a cut above the usual fare. If you’re in town, do get in touch, as there should be plenty of hanging out time Thursday evening, and the metaverse meetup Friday night. See you there.

I just had another look at the schedule and one thought came to my mind… I wonder if anyone is going to use the conference to announce a new platform a la Sony’s Home at GDC?

I am also here now and we had a great get together meeting today. So tomorrow will be some time on the IBM stand meeting and greeting, some press, some meeting all the people who blog and meetup in all the various virtual worlds. Some great announcements coming from the MTV people this morning. I thought the “Virtual Logo” announcement with “user created content” was particularly surprising. Planning to attend the Metaverse Meetup on Friday, but definitely interested in joining in on any Metaverse-ish gatherings on Wednesday or Thursday. Anyone want to get together for some geek talk on Virtual Worlds?
