BBC Seeks Gamers For Upcoming Documentary
The BBC is in production on an hour-long television documentary on massively multiplayer online games, and they’re looking for subjects to interview. If your avatar is “more like you than you are” — or even if you’re a more typical sort — get in touch with them and maybe you too can appear on British television. Email and more details after the jump.
The film will be broadcast in the UK around January or February of next year as part of Horizon, the broadcaster’s “flagship science documentary series,” according to the Beeb. Full details and contact information below:
Is your Avatar more like ‘you’ than you are?
Are you making a lot of virtual money? And turning it into ‘real’ money?
Are you a typical online gamer, or do you break the geek-mould?
The BBC is making a new documentary about the meteoric rise of MMORPGs and other virtual worlds: featuring interviews with game designers, psychologists, economists and of course, gamers - which is where you come in…
We’re looking for a wide range of gamers (UK and US) to feature in the film - from teenagers to pensioners, newbies to guild leaders, and from addicts to part-timers.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from you if:
* You’re passionate about your Avatar - whether it’s just like you, or contrasts dramatically with your life offline
* You make real money through your dealings in a game
* You are worried about addiction — either for yourself, a friend, or a relative
* You are organising a protest or event in a game
* You regularly meet with other gamers in the outside world
If you’re interested, please get in touch by emailing virtualworlds [at] bbc.co.uk. We’ll follow up with a phone call.

Hey, im Andy, Im 17 Live in London and am abit of a game addict..
Ive been playing at least one game for 7+ hours everyday since i was in year 8, so thats about 13. The latest game i play Is World Of Warcraft, on my Xfire (www.xfire.com) it says i have played over 50 hours this weak, i play as soon as i get in from college and when ever i have free time. I think its bad because it means my college work and social life suffer from it. Im also obsessed with music, and the only thing i really do other then play games is go to gigs or play my guitar, i love music with a passion :D
I have gone through many different aliases through the years, my first was Andy Ice, when i used to play Joint Operations (for about 3 years) i was really out of the top 3 in a game, i was called Asa when i played counterstrike, and now Thunarr with world of warcraft, Its another name for Thor (Norse God of Thunder and Justice) I changed names with the games when i change because i feel that it gave me a new start with the game, i was called Andy Ice for the longest as it was my first name. Also, id like to say that through gaming you can meet some really cool people, i havent really met many in personal, but i am really good friends with people that i used to play with years ago, its great for making friends, i have loads from games.
Thats all anyways, thanks for reading
Andy
