Submit Your SL Art to San Jose Museum

The San Jose Museum of Art will put a private island from the virtual world of Second Life on display in August, and submissions for artworks to fill the virtual space are currently being sought. The display will coincide with the ZeroOne festival of “art on the edge” and the 13th annual International Symposium of Electronic Arts, being held August 7-13 in San Jose.
New and existing Second Life members are invited to submit furniture, objects, fashion and accessory designs, aesthetic creations, games, vehicles, buildings, amusements and attractions, foliage and natural features, including site-specific installations or performances, or any other creation made inside the Second Life metaverse.
That’s according to Ludica, the “female-friendly” game design and art collective which will be handling submissions. Guidelines can be found here, and submissions close June 30 (note that “early proposals will be given priority consideration”), with artists to be notified two weeks later. Good luck!

Very cool.. and funny the promo image they used is the build I created in Burning Life last year… woot!
Oh, nice going, Rhiannon. Is it still in SL? Location?
No, it only existed in-world during that few week period of time. I had won a lottery space for the Burning Life event and had decided to do a virtual world take on a project some RL friends were doing at the RL Burning Man. The premise being one central, house shaped structure that each artist collaborating would have one-room as their own. We had 10 people working together in our SL version. Was great fun, can’t beat collaborative art!
The house was named ‘the dreamhouse’, info on original concept here: http://blikum.com/burningman2005/dreamhouse/ and pics of it at Burning Man here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/popvulture/tags/thedreamhouse/show/
We also called our SL version dreamhouse, pics from it are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/joystudios/sets/1350103/show/
