A Virtual Cannes Screens X-Men Footage

It might as well be Second Life
Justin Bovington’s Rivers Run Red apparently screened extended trailers and footage of the third X-Men movie, X-Men: The Last Stand, in Second Life earlier this evening, in conjunction with the world premiere of the movie at Cannes. I missed the event itself, but it was put on “in association with 20th Century Fox“, according to an announcement on the Second Life Web site, and included a live video stream from Cannes complete with live commentary, exclusive to Second Life, from X-Woman Ellen Page, who plays Kitty Pryde (aka Shadowcat) in the movie — though in the Rivers announcement she’s called Ellen Parry.
Bovington, known as Fizik Baskerville in SL, is certainly getting around these days. More importantly, Second Life is certainly getting a lot of play as a viral marketing platform (see 3pointD’s previous post). No word yet on what turn-out was like for the virtual X-Men event, but look for more of the same coming up — at least for the time being.

Just wanted to note that turnout was as much as the sim could handle (means: It was full when I was trying to get there at first). The problem with such events might be this limit (of course raising that will not solve this problem as it will only add lag and instability). One solution might be to do such events at the corner of 4 sims as sometimes done but this of course adds quite some extra costs (I wonder though if such spots are maybe available for rent).
X-Men 3 - extra scene at end (spoilers!)
I saw the X-Men 3 movie today; really good!
However, I was asked to fill out a “Producers’ Questionnaire” with part before and part after the movie….
I was filling in the part after the movie, and low-and-behold, an extra scene came on briefly AFTER all the credits were over….
spoiler:Xavier’s voice (don’t remember what he said) talking to a nurse in a hospital room…Has anyone else seen this, or was it just for “Questionnaire” people ?
