200,747 registered members as of this morning. It actually passed the mark around 9pm Eastern last night. I got the text message from a friend, but I was out. Various people have a bet going as to whether Second Life will reach a million by the end of the year. I’ve been betting against, but at the rate things have been going, I wouldn’t be surprised — nor displeased — to see myself lose that bet.

Whew, my alts and I are tired!
Well, I had a bet going with Hamlet nee Linden Au that it wouldn’t even reach 40,000 by this June. I said I’d be glad to be proven wrong, and I was! But…we don’t really have 40,000 active, regularly logging-on users — but we’re very close!
Actually, the number of different accounts that log on each month is higher than 40,000, I’m told. That’s not concurrrent users, just accounts logging in in a given (recent) month. Whether some of those accounts belong to the same person is a different question.
