We fancy ourselves forward-looking at 3pointD, but little did we know. Less than 24 hours after introducing Glitchy Links with the promise of news of J.Lo in the virtual world comes just that: Glitchy reports that Rivers Run Red (recently blogged here) is to create a J.Lo guitar in Second Life on behalf of Fender Guitars and MTV-UK. Details have yet to emerge (or else I missed them while I was on my flight to California), but it’s a nice deal to land for Fizik Baskerville and the rest of the Rivers — as well as good evidence that Glitchy has landed on the right blog. Stay tuned for updates.

There’s so much more 3pointD to blog today, but I’m leaving for California in an hour and 40 minutes and I haven’t packed yet. I’m off to attend SDForum and the Metaverse Roadmap, and after that heading down to E3 — plus I may try to poke my head into the cool-sounding MeshForum in between, with any luck. I’ll be blogging from all these places, and John Swords and I will be taping podcasts there for a new show we’ll soon be starting, so stay tuned.

The moon in Earth orbit — but not Google Earth

Thank the stars for readers. A few posts ago I was pondering how cool it would be if Google were to come out with a Google Space application, and reader Adam Blumenthal pointed out that such a thing already exists, not from Google, but in the form of a free app called Celestia (for Windows, OS X or Linux), which, if you know what’s good for, you’ll download and check out before you even read the rest of this post.
